London - Alexandra Palace Pt1

Alexandra Palace, called Ally Pally by the Londoners, stands on a hill in the north of London.
This building with its surrounding park was built in 1873 as recreation area for the public, but burnt down already 16 days later. In May 1875, less than 2 years after the destruction of the original building, a new Palace opened.
The worlds first regular high definition television service was inaugurated there in 1936 by the BBC.
I have been there a lot of times when I was visiting London, one has a fantastic view over Hornsey and Crouch End down to Central London. Take a look at this map too.
There is a nice walk from Ally Pally on the former railway track down to Finsbury Park, check pics of that walk here.
